I went for a blood test the other morning at 07.30. I was very disappointed at the way the nurse appeared. She had pet hair all over her cloths .She also drew my bloods with out wearing gloves . I really don't think its a good example of how a front line nurse should appear. First impressions are lasting impressions.

Response from Meridian Surgery

We are very sorry you have experienced frustration with getting an appointment. Our phone lines are very busy, and this has increased due to two other local surgeries closing, which meant we had to absorb over 2000 patients. Have you registered for our online services? We find our patients find this a simple way to book non-urgent appointments without spending time holding on the telephone. We do appreciate how frustrating this is, and are always seeking ways to improve our appointments system. Please ask a member of our Reception Team about registering for our online services. There are also a number of prebookable appointments available with your usual GP for non-urgent appointments. Yours faithfully, Doctor Irma Murjikneli Meridian Surgery

I was shocked to find out my appointment was a 10 minute slot after phoning repeatedly in the morning i finally managed to get one in the afternoon. Therefore I was unable to address other health issues i NEEDED to sort out. Got a prescription for my leg. The doctor didn't seem interested in anything else I had to say due to my time being up. Very unhappy with this survice I don't want to come back but have no choice. You can't register with a surgery without living in the same town apparently.

Response from Meridian Surgery

Unfortunately, our general appointments are only ten minutes, and therefore the clinicians are only to deal with one issue at a time, especially if they are running late due to emergency situations that inevitably arise throughout a usual working day. We appreciate this is difficult, but this is the same for most GP practice in the country. We would say that if you needed to discuss more than one issue, please ask our reception team at the time of booking your appointment if you could have a longer appointment, and we will always do our best to try and accommodate this. We are very sorry you were unhappy with the service on this occasion, and would welcome you to contact our Patient Services Manager so this can be discussed in more detail. Yours faithfully, Doctor Irma Murjikneli Meridian Surgery

The receptionists at this practise are extremely rude. They have a 'don't bother me' attitude and never listen to 'your' needs. One in particular speaks really fast and tries to get you off the phone asap. Not helpful at all when you are unwell or needing guidance.

Response from Meridian Surgery

We are very sorry to hear this, and would like to apologise that you were not treated in the way you wished. As you can appreciate, our reception team are under a lot of pressure and have a very difficult job. The attitude you experienced may have been from someone that was feeling stressed, although this is not an excuse for rudeness. The reception team work very hard and have to deal with patients who are very ill and/or upset – this is a very challenging role, and they are often the first point of contact for patients that are unhappy, and often bear the brunt of this. We would like to apologise for your experience, and please do speak to our Patient Services Manager if you wish to make a complaint if you encounter difficulties in the future. Yours faithfully, Doctor Irma Murjikneli Meridian Surgery

Practice nurse is rude and needs to learn manners ....if you are young she thinks she can patronise you and make you seem guilty for coming to the doctors
